Tea and Denis chose the Umbrian countryside for a deeply personal day surrounded by olive groves, rolling hills and their closest loved ones.

Their celebration is an example of how an Umbria elopement can feel both beautifully elevated and completely unhurried, focused on connection rather than performance.

Umbria, Italy elopement photos

Tea and Denis chose an intimate elopement in Umbria, Italy, surrounded by olive groves, rolling hills, and the quiet beauty of the Italian countryside. Their day unfolded in the heart of Umbria, a region known for its timeless landscapes, soft light, and slow, romantic rhythm — the perfect setting for a private destination elopement.

Surrounded only by their closest loved ones, Tea and Denis experienced their elopement exactly as they envisioned it; unhurried, meaningful, and fully present. Tea wore a gown that felt both elegant and natural in the setting, while Denis’s attention never drifted far from her, his quiet joy visible in every glance.

This Umbria elopement was not about tradition or scale, but about connection. About choosing an intimate wedding experience in Italy that focused on emotion, closeness, and the freedom to celebrate love in its purest form. Beneath the open Italian sky, they promised forever; simply, honestly, and exactly as they are.

An elopement that shows how destination weddings in Italy don’t need to be grand to be unforgettable; sometimes, intimacy is what makes the story truly timeless.

Why choose Umbria for an intimate elopement?

In our eyes, Umbria had the cozy feeling of rustic Italian countryside and going back in time. The landscape had stunning views with a lot of possibilities for an intimate photoshoot, as the entire region is quite authentic without being overcrowded with tourists.

Tea and Denis’s elopement story

Tea and Denis got married at I Casali di Colle San Paolo, owned by two very kind Italian sisters. It is located next to a smaller village but relatively simple to find. Their wedding took place in May, when it was not too hot yet, but the Sun was out to make for a perfect backdrop. They had an elopement with less than 20 guests, and it really was heartfelt and emotional throughout the day. They chose Umbria as they fell in love with Italy in general, and could not imagine getting married elsewhere.

Is Umbria a good place to elope?

Umbria suits couples who want the landscapes and historic character of central Italy in a quieter, more intimate setting. Its olive groves, hilltop towns and countryside estates work particularly well for celebrations centred on privacy and connection.

What is the best time of year for an Umbria elopement?

We recommend months that are not too hot – late spring or early autumn work best in our opinion.

How far in advance should we book vendors?

It is recommended to do so at least a year in advance for the venue, band, and photo-video team.
